High octane adventure sports holiday outfit, Moxie Republic bring adrenalin junkies from across the globe to meet up for new challenges in outdoor pursuits and this year they’re bringing their action to Lanzarote and Sands Beach Resort.
With offices in Dublin, London and South Africa, it was Moxie Republic’s Dublin team of John Brian and Ronan Redmond (pictured above, 1st & 3rd from left) who visited Lanzarote in June to check out its deserved reputation as Europe’s leading, year round sports destination. Meeting up with Sands Beach Resort’s John Beckley (above, second from left), the two were impressed with the standard of accommodation and the on-site sports facilities such as the stand up paddle, the cycle hire, the try-dives and the semi-Olympic pool, not to mention the services of an on-site nutritionist and physiotherapist Juan Montero. For Moxie Republic that all added up to the perfect venue to host their first Lanzarote Adventure Race.
The Lanzarote Adventure Race is being staged from 17th to 22nd October 2012 and will take participants on an exciting and challenging adventure over the course of five days which will include tuition in stand up paddle and briefings from London Olympian Jose Carlos Hernandez and from Enduroman 2012 winner Nico Ward. The race itself will consist of a 10km cliff run followed by a 48km road cycle race then a 4km volcanic mountain ascent of 235 metres up Montaña Corona before another 2km road race and culminating in a stand up paddle and sprint finish.
Ending the week with a barbecue, prize giving and party at the Sands Beach Mai Tai bar on the lagoon, it promises to be a incredible week of challenges, learning and fun.
