The eyes of the world are now on South Africa as the World Cup kicks off, problems of poverty and disease may get an odd mention between the football but what happens when it’s over? Pearly Grey Resort in Callao Salvaje, Tenerife has a long term commitment to the Ingane Yami charity, helping to build a village for orphans in the Durban region.
The latest fund raising effort was a charity golf day at Golf Costa Adeje on 5th June and the response was amazing with 102 players turning out in the scorching heat to play under the 2 ball better ball format. Competition was fierce but friendly as the players jostled for supremacy but there was lots of fun along the way.
There were seperate prizes in the mens and womens nearest the pin and longest drive categories. Take a bow the main prize winners
- 1st 49 points Angel Gonzalez Rodriguez + Mauro Fernando Rojas

After a long days play it was time to retire to the clubhouse for the prize giving followed by a lavish buffet laid on by Golf Costa Adeje. The biggest win of the day was for Ingane Yami as 1,600 euros were raised to swell Pearly Grey’s contribution to date to over 17,000 euros. Well done everyone.
