If you haven’t followed the success story that is ladies golf now’s the time to find out at Golf Las Americas. Tenerife Ladies Match Play takes centre stage this week featuring 32 of the best players from around the globe. It’s a new format this year but we were pleased to welcome the Tenerife Ladies Open in 2003 when Elisabeth Esterl of Germany was the winner. The Golf Las Americas course has continued to improve since then and the ladies game has also made huge strides in media coverage and sponsorship.
Since that 2003 staging winners of the Tenerife tournament have come from Italy, France, Finland, Australia and the last three from England. Trish Johnson (above) is back this year to defend her title that she won last year.
- Thurs 9 June – Pro Am, 9 am, includes classification for the Professionals
- Fri 10 June – Second round Match Play with 32 players, 8.30 am to 4 pm
- Sat 11 June – Third round Match Play with 16 players, 8.30 am to 4 pm
- Sun 12 June – Final round Stroke Play with 8 players, 8.30 am to 3 pm
