More than 1,600 participants gathered for the Ironman Lanzarote 2015 to face the challenges that the Lanzarote course has to offer. Both, the athletes and the audience enjoyed the day, where nothing was for sure until the last moment. The strong wind and the sun during the bike course did not make it easy for the athletes.
After leading in the bike race, the Italian Alessandro Degasperi won the championship of the Ironman Lanzarote 2015, completing the race at 8:56:49. Christian Krämer mostly leader during the race, accomplished the second place (8:59:30). While Mauro Baertsch (9:04:45) was the third.
In the female category Diana Riesler, who was leading during most of the race, was the first to cross the finish line at 9:52:03. The second woman was Michi Herlbauer (10:13:49) and Caroline Livesey accomplished the third place (10:31:56).
