All eyes will be on the west coast of Tenerife for the Abama Pro Am golf tournament from 15 to 18 March, now celebrating it’s third year. This year the field is packed with big stars including from footballer Luis Figo and Guti plus former player and manager Bernd Schuster who played for Barcelona and also managed Real Madrid. From tennis there is Emilio Sanchez Vicario and acclaimed chef Martin Berasategui joins the mix.
The delightful and challenging course will put all the players through their paces but it’s also a fun event for the public to enjoy as they mingle with big names of sport and business. The first tournament was won by a team captained by Canarian Peter Linhart and the second event saw Portugal’s Antonio Sobrinho lead his team to victory.
The tournament will attract lots of media attention and showcase the Abama Golf Resort as the flagship for golf in Tenerife, a growing incentive for holiday makers and ex pat settlers to choose Tenerife.
